Landscaping Bark

Landscaping Bark is a mid-dark brown, quality multi-purpose grade bark derived from forestry woodchip. It is a natural product and will enhance the appearance of your garden. Bark mulch will inhibit weed development; improve moisture retention and act as insulation for plant roots, reducing plant loss in winter.

Weed Control Matting

Heavy duty woven polyethylene-landscaping fabric. This allows water to permeate through whilst stopping the light that’s essential to plant growth and should be used where the fabric could become exposed to wear and tear such as Pets or Children. Under gravel drives, decking or sheds and well used pathways.

Decorative Stone or Slate

A formal area of tranquility using plants, sparingly and simple hard landscaping, most usually decorative stone and rockery. Water often acts as a dominant feature, being a randomly shaped ‘stream’ bordered by rocks of differing sizes, mimicking nature. Grasses can grow through the gravel as though self-seeded. A Zen garden can be created by raking decorative stone in symbolic patterns with careful positioning of large rockery stones representing the natural landscape.

Although Decorative Stone can be laid directly onto soil, it is recommended to use a membrane to minimise weed growth.

1. Lay the membrane with a minimum of 50mm overlap between the sheets
2. Lay the aggregate to the depth required (50mm is sufficient for most garden applications)
3. Rake to achieve a level surface

Suitable plants: Acers (plant in ericaceous compost), Grasses, Hostas and Bamboos

Plants are chosen for their texture and foliage with flowers in delicate pastel shades. They are often ground covering plants contrasting with specimen Acers (Japanese Maples) and provide a low maintenance garden.
