The most common pests that affect British lawns are:

• Chafer grubs
• Leatherjackets (Crane Fly, or Daddy Long Legs)
• Worm Casts
• Ants
• Moles

Control products for these pests are not generally available in DIY form to homeowners. Brock Gardens will recommend an appropriate course of action once we have identified the pest involved. Professional assistance is strongly advised to ensure the best possible solution and it may be necessary to refer the problem to an environmental specialist.

Diseases will manifest in many forms, the most commonly recognised are:

• Moulds
• Brown & Yellow Patches
• Toadstools & Fairy Rings
• Lichen
• Algae

Many of these will attack a lawn between spring and autumn and are often apparent during moist weather.

It is important to recognise that some patches are not caused by disease. Spilled mower fuel, dog urine, compaction and matted thatch will cause similar visual effects. We will be happy to recommend the best course of action.
